Meet our
people.

We work as mapmakers and guides. This is who’s holding the map.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Conversation that actually builds something.

Most conversations defend positions. Ours don’t. We bounce off each other, follow a thought further than any one of us would alone, and leave with something none of us brought into the room. That’s rarer than it should be, and it’s not just how we get on, it’s most of the actual work.

It’s held up by real depth, years of practice alongside academic and research grounding, so generative doesn’t mean loose. And it’s not a closed circle. If you think differently, work rigorously, and can hold a real conversation rather than defend a position, there might be a place for you here too.

Leadership Team

This is how we show up. For our clients, for each other, and for the work.

Neil Almond

Chief Systemic Navigator

Chief Systemic Navigator

Neil helps leaders see what's really shaping their organisation, the power dynamics, incentives, and assumptions beneath the visible processes, and design change that fits the reality they're working in rather than fighting it.

He holds an innovation-focused MBA (winner, business subject prize), an MA in Coaching and Mentoring, and is completing an MSc in Systems Thinking in Practice at Cranfield University. He's one of a handful of NLP Master Trainers in the UK and received the ANLP Award for Making a Difference using NLP in 2017.

He's facilitated sessions for senior leaders across government, business, and the third sector, including at 10 and 11 Downing Street, and has worked alongside figures such as Sir Richard Branson and Anita Roddick.

Andy Cartmell

Director of Operations & Embodied Change

Director of Operations & Embodied Change

Andy is the rare combination that makes complex delivery actually work: someone who can run the hard edges of a major programme, project controls, risk, planning, and read the room while he's doing it. He builds the trust and rhythm that let multiple stakeholders move together when stakes are high and timelines are unforgiving, and he makes sure the ideas that get agreed in the room are the ones that land, stick, and grow once everyone's back at their desks.

He holds a degree in Clinical Psychology and postgraduate qualifications in holistic counselling, is a certified ANLP certified trainer, and a full Member of the Association for Project Management.

He's brought that combination to major programmes across infrastructure, transport, government, and energy, working with organisations including EDF, Eurostar, HS1, Network Rail, Defra, MoD and O2.

“I chose systemic innovation because the statistic that 70% of innovation fails was not one I wanted to be on the end of.”

“I see it like my little toolbox. It’s something that’s stuck with me and has fundamentally changed how I approach challenges on a personal and business level.”

“Bringing Neil into my clients is something I don’t hesitate to do. He will come in and quickly understand the most complex and most critical issues for an organisation and very quickly navigate his way around with diplomacy and humour to help them reach their goals.”

“We’ve now had 1,500 women go through our programme, and we’ve eliminated attrition from that population, which is extraordinary. We have stopped women leaving our organisation once we invest in them in that way.”

“When Neil tips up in an organisation, I think he’s tipping up as a colleague, as someone who wants to collaborate and who genuinely wants to leave a legacy.”

David Beales

People innovation Hub, EDF

It speaks to:

The unseen structures that shape behaviour inside organisations

The unrealised capability in teams, waiting to be surfaced

The untapped systemic conditions that determine whether innovation thrives or quietly disappears

Innovation and culture don't happen by force. They emerge.

Yet too often, good ideas never take root because the system isn’t ready to receive them.

We believe that organisations already have the potential for lasting, meaningful innovation. What they need is the capacity, confidence, and conditions to bring it to life.

We believe that when people think systemically, innovate purposefully, and build capability, change becomes sustainable. Organisations evolve from the inside out.

We're not traditional consultants. We don't drop in with a report and disappear.

We work as mapmakers and guides. We help you make sense of the systems you are part of and see what is really shaping how people behave and how change unfolds.

Our work blends systems thinking, human-centred innovation, and applied psychology (including NLP) to support better decisions, more aligned action, and change that actually works in the real world.

And we stay with you. Not until the project ends. Until the innovation takes root.

The

way

Make it stick
Walk alongside
Build confidence
Work with complexity
Care beyond the project

Focus on lasting capability, not just ideas.
Be a guide, not a guru.
Help people believe they can innovate.
Navigate, don’t oversimplify.
Think beyond delivery to legacy.

Ready to explore?

If you’d like to explore how we could help, we’d love to have a conversation.

Got a question?

Have a conversation.

Our AI is trained on our thinking, our methodology and our work. Ask it anything about complexity, our programmes, or whether we might be the right fit for what you’re facing. It can even point you to the juicy free stuff if you’d rather start there. It can answer most questions faster than we can. But if you want to talk to a person, it will 100% make that happen. We just might take a little longer to get back to you, because we’re only human.

You’re talking to an AI. It won’t pretend otherwise. But it knows our work inside out and is very friendly.
